Student Leadership

Leadership is an important core value at JSBF. We try to inculcate the same in our students from first year itself. Students are given opportunities to hone and exhibit their leadership skills throughout the programme. One such initiative at JSBF is the Student Council.

JSBF Student Elections 2018-2019

JSBF Student Council is an entirely student run body and is part of bigger JGU Student Council. It gives students a platform to initiate activities of their interest on campus or have a voice in matters of concern to them.

It seems quite surprising to me that I am writing about my experience at JGU, for in my head, it feels like only yesterday I walked in with my suitcase to settle here. The first semester of college flew by in the blink of an eye, where I made friends and memories I would cherish forever. Being part of the founding batch of JSBF, I was quite skeptical as to how everything would be and whether I would be able to achieve my academic and other goals in this college. Needless to say, it has been a great journey so far. Highly educated and interactive faculty members, industry structured courses, interdisciplinary learning etc. offer me with so much more than just a regular B.Com.(Hons.) degree. The University allows us to choose what we want to learn, take subjects from any of the other 7 schools, specialize in our field of choice and gain extra tutelage on whatever we fancy, making it a wholesome learning experience. The vibrant buzz of this beautiful campus – be it in the field of sports, dance, theatre, music, photography and the numerous events that keep happening day in day out – makes it a haven for all who reside here. I’m really glad I took this opportunity to come here and I urge anyone interested to do the same and be part of this fantastic experience.

JSBF evokes a full palette of emotions: extremely privileged to be tutored by such pedigreed yet accessible professors; positively challenged by the intense study ecosystem, quizzes, case studies and projects, gaining unmistakable confidence with the development of specialized domain and my soft skills; experiencing the joy of making new friends from different cities and of experiencing the quiet comfort of this beautiful and welcoming campus, like a well-equipped second home. JSBF feels right.

Vedant Ade

Cultural Secretary

From the very first day of coming to the campus, I knew that it would be difficult for me to adjust to the hostel life, but my friends made it very easy. JGU’s fests like Biswamil and Bites made me feel more comfortable and cheered me up. Coming from a science background, I always had a fear of not being able to understand subjects like accounting, but my faculty and friends helped me, and it was a smooth transition. Even before coming to the University, I always wanted to make an impact. This motivated me to become the Cultural Secretary for JSBF Student Council. After becoming Cultural Secretary, I plan on initiating certain ideas such as having a student run newsletter and on-campus podcast. I also get to be a part of the very first business fest “biznest" and one of the best part of it is understanding all the experience that one gains after handling all the events and brainstorming ideas for creating new events. This is one of the best experiences on the campus!
