Competition Problem

As a participant, you will assume the role of a Consultant hired by the Office of the Prime Minister of India to monitor and improve the COVID-19 situation in your locality. Follow the steps below and answer the following questions in preparing your plan/idea:

Step 1

Identify ONE important business entity or working group that is impacted by the pandemic in your locality. You can consider local schools & colleges, local groceries/kirana stores, domestic service providers & household help, local clinics & hospitals, local factories & manufacturing units, local agriculture & farming community, salaried employees in private & government offices, family-run businesses etc.

Step 2

Identify the most important challenges they might be facing during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can consider adverse impact on education, job loss, lack of transportation, lack of medicines & medical facilities, cash crunch etc. 

Step 3

Recommend ONE innovative and ethically responsible solution to help solve the problem(s) you have identified in the step 2.

Be creative, be specific and do not repeat what is already available in media.

Steps to Participate

  1. Submit your idea/plan here. The last date of entering in this competition is 21st May 2020, the end of the day.
  2. Participants of shortlisted entries will be notified between 22nd and 23rd May 2020 via email/phone.
  3. Online workshop and feedback session will be scheduled between 22nd and 23rd May 2020*.
  4. Final pitch by shortlisted participants is scheduled on 24th May 2020.
  5. Announcement of winners will be made between 27th and 29th May 2020.

Eligibility and Rules

  • One student per entry from any part of India.
  • Only students who are completing 12th standard in the year 2020 from any recognized board are eligible to participate.
  • The proposed idea/pitch should not be plagiarised.
  • Participants must submit their entry through this Form.

Criteria for selection

  1. Creativity and innovativeness of the idea
  2. Viability and feasibility in the local context
  3. Financial, social and/or economic impact
  4. Presentation skills
