In Year 1, you will learn fundamental skills which are essential for a banking and finance professional, and basic understanding of business management and finance. In Year 2, you will build on your previous knowledge by acquiring a better understanding of financial instruments, procedures, credit management and overall financial system environment. You will also be introduced to the technical aspects of various financial markets through analytical software.

Pathways

JSBF provides you 3 specializations which are highly industry relevant. In third year,  you have the option to choose one of these pathways. Each pathway is a form of specialization and offers electives. A final year Capstone Project will also allow you to explore a topic independently in which you will demonstrate academic and practical aspects of your ability in your chosen area of study.

Optional Pathway 1: Finance and Risk Management

This specialization is ideal for students who are interested  in the stock market and enjoy working with numbers. This specialization track will give students a deeper understanding of the various financing and dividend decisions, business valuation and mergers and acquisitions decisions, capital budgeting aspects of investment decisions, how firms manage their cash and working capital, risk management etc. In 3rd year, students will be able to choose 6 courses from the following list. This pathway is designed to provide students with specialist knowledge in aspects of the law that are highly relevant to the emerging banking and finance sector. The optional courses help students understand intricacies of the regulations and guidelines that financial institutions must follow. This path will help in preparing students for a career in advising international law firms, investment banks, accounting firms, international corporations or as fund managers.
